Marmara Blue is a large-format marble effect porcelain tile with a white ground and blue-grey veining, in the manner of a Statuario or Calacatta slab, made in Spain by Azulejos Benadresa. The 120x60cm rectified format keeps grout lines to a minimum, and the matt (“natural”) glaze reads as honed stone rather than polished, so it stays calm underfoot and on the wall instead of mirroring the room.
Choosing this tile. Glazed porcelain for floors and walls: bathroom floors and walls, kitchens, halls and living rooms, and frost resistant, so it can carry on to a terrace or step. Benadresa rates it V4, the highest shade variation class, which means the veining differs strongly from tile to tile by design; lay a few boxes out dry and mix them, and order the whole job at once so batches match. At 120x60cm use a levelling clip system on the floor and a 2mm joint in white or light grey. About four boxes covers a 5 m² floor with 10% for cuts. No slip rating is published for this tile, so ask us before using it on a wet-room or shower floor. The range also includes a 60x60cm format, available to order.
Stocked in Ireland, so short lead times and no minimum order: a single box to sample or to top up a job.
