Toscana Gris is a mid-grey marble effect with real depth: a clouded grey ground, soft white drifts and fine rust and darker veins, closer to a Fior di Bosco marble than to a flat printed grey. It comes as a 30x90cm rectified white body wall tile in a matt glaze and a matching 75x75cm rectified matt porcelain floor tile, so a bathroom can be done wall and floor in the same stone.
Choosing this tile. Use the 30x90cm on walls only: bathroom, en-suite, shower, kitchen splashback. The 75x75cm porcelain is the floor piece and also works on walls in a larger room. A light grey grout at 2mm lets the veining carry across the joints; a white grout draws a grid on a tile this dark. About four boxes of 30x90cm covers a 5 m² wall with 10% for cuts; five boxes of 75x75cm covers a 5 m² floor. The pattern varies tile to tile and between the two formats, so mix boxes as you lay and order the whole job at once. At 75x75cm a levelling clip system is worth using on the floor.
