Sardonyx Pearl is a large-format onyx effect porcelain tile made in Spain by Pamesa Cerámica: a pale pearl-grey ground with soft grey clouding and faint veining. The polished glaze gives the deep, glassy shine of real cut onyx and bounces light around the room. The 120x60cm rectified format keeps grout lines to a minimum and suits a calm, cool scheme with chrome, black or grey.
Choosing this tile. Glazed porcelain (PEI IV) for walls and floors: bathroom walls, kitchens, splashbacks, halls and living rooms. Polished tiles are slippery when wet, so use them on walls and dry floors (hall, living room, kitchen) and ask us about a matt option for bathroom floors and shower areas. Pamesa rates the range high shade variation, so the clouding and veining change from tile to tile by design; lay a few boxes out dry and mix them, and order the whole job at once so batches match. Pamesa does not recommend a half (50%) offset brick-bond layout for this range: use a straight stack or a one-third offset, a levelling clip system on the floor and a 2mm joint in white or light grey. About four boxes covers a 5 m² floor with 10% for cuts. The Sardonyx range also comes in Matt and in White, Cream and Pearl.
