Sardonyx White is a large-format onyx effect porcelain tile made in Spain by Pamesa Cerámica: a cool white ground with soft translucent clouding and fine grey veins. The satin (matt) glaze keeps the onyx pattern but softens the shine, so it reads as honed stone and is easier to live with underfoot. The 120x60cm rectified format keeps grout lines to a minimum and suits a clean, bright scheme.
Choosing this tile. Glazed porcelain (PEI IV) for walls and floors: bathroom walls, kitchens, splashbacks, halls and living rooms. No slip rating is published for the satin finish, so ask us before using it on a wet-room or shower floor. Pamesa rates the range high shade variation, so the clouding and veining change from tile to tile by design; lay a few boxes out dry and mix them, and order the whole job at once so batches match. Pamesa does not recommend a half (50%) offset brick-bond layout for this range: use a straight stack or a one-third offset, a levelling clip system on the floor and a 2mm joint in white or light grey. About four boxes covers a 5 m² floor with 10% for cuts. The Sardonyx range also comes in Gloss and in White, Cream and Pearl.
