Archicross Concept Black takes the line’s interweaving of concrete and stone into near-black. A dark ground is broken by lighter clouding, delicate inclusions and irregular patterning, so the surface has depth instead of reading as flat ink — Paradyż describe the effect as industrial roughness meeting the natural beauty of mineral formations.
The finish is the slip rating. Matt is R10 and Structure A is R11, the same black in both, plus a pressed step tile. Matt for dry floors and walls, Structure A for a shower floor or wet room. Compared with the plain Base Black, the clouding here does real work underfoot: it absorbs the dust and dried water marks that a flat black shows plainly, which makes it the more liveable of the two in a bathroom that actually gets used.
What “structure” actually means here. Structure A is not a printed effect — the surface is physically raised, a fine dense grain you feel under a bare foot, closer to fine grit paper than to a smooth kitchen wall tile. On black the relief also catches the light, so the structured face reads slightly lighter than the flat Matt in the same colour.
Laying it. The colour is fired through the body, so a chipped edge stays black rather than showing a pale core. Mix tiles across boxes as you lay so the lighter faces distribute evenly; a dark or mid-grey grout stops the joints cutting the floor into a grid. Every format covers 1.43 m² per box at 26.6 kg — a 6 m² floor is five boxes with the usual ~10% cutting allowance. Rectified edges take a 2 mm joint; suits underfloor heating.
