Buying guide

Choose with confidence

Measure the finished opening at the top, middle and bottom, then use the smallest measurement. Sliding and bi-fold doors save floor space, while hinged doors provide a wide opening where clearance allows.

Every door lists an adjustment range to accommodate small variations in the walls. Check the glass thickness, handing and finish before ordering.

How do I measure for a shower door?

Measure the finished opening at the top, middle and bottom and use the smallest measurement. Compare it with the adjustment range shown on the product page.

Should I choose a sliding, bi-fold or hinged door?

Sliding doors need no outward clearance and suit wider recesses. Bi-fold doors fold inwards for compact bathrooms. Hinged and pivot doors provide a generous opening where there is clear floor space.

What glass thickness should I choose?

Both 6mm and 8mm toughened safety glass are suitable for shower doors. Eight-millimetre glass feels heavier and is commonly used on premium or more minimal designs.

What is the difference between a shower door and an enclosure?

A shower door closes a recessed opening between three walls. A shower enclosure normally includes the door and one or more side panels for a corner installation.

Can I order a made-to-measure shower door?

Yes. We can help with non-standard widths, reduced heights, sloped ceilings and unusual openings through our made-to-measure shower service.

Do you deliver shower doors across Ireland?
