A concealed cistern toilet hides the water tank inside the wall instead of bolting it to the back of the pan. All you see is the bowl and a flush plate — no visible cistern, no pipework, and far less to clean around.
Both use the same concealed cistern behind the wall, so the finished look is nearly identical.

No. The valves that eventually wear out are reached by lifting off the flush plate, so servicing a concealed cistern never means opening the wall. Many of the pans here are also rimless, which removes the hidden rim channel where limescale normally builds up.
Allow around 15 cm of wall depth for a standard frame, or about 11 cm with a slim frame. If floor space is tight, check our short projection toilets; for a higher, more accessible seat see comfort height toilets.
